Jerry Rogers Obituary

Jerry Milton Rogers Sr, 88 of Niceville, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 5, 2025. He was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on October 7, 1936 to Jewel Oland and Clara Elvira Rogers, then raised and educated in Holt, Alabama. He was married to Mary Hulsey Rogers for 67 years, and the couple raised five children together.
Jerry earned a bachelor's degree in Business from the University of Alabama and served two years in the United States Army, stationed in Korea, before returning home to his family to enjoy a rich career in sales for a variety of industries. Jerry was known for his wit and deep sense of humor, and much of his sage advice is remembered and valued by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and five siblings: Elma Louise Poer, Jesse Irene Zeanah, Melvin Douglas (Buddy), James William (Jim) and Johnny Mack. He is survived by his wife Mary, and children, Cindy (Fawzi) Khalaf, Jerry Rogers Jr., Paula Rogers, Michael (Rebekah) Rogers, and David (Beth) Rogers.
Jerry was most proud of his family -- his wife, his children, his nieces and nephews, and especially his nine grandchildren: Tarick Khalaf (Kanami), Lucas DeGraw, Mary Hannah DeGraw, Chistopher (Heroildo) Matos-Rogers, Joshua (Jessica) Rogers, Grace Elizabeth Rogers, Clara Louise Rogers, David (DJ) Rogers Jr., and Zane Rogers, as well as his three great grandchildren: Laine Khalaf, Ciara Khalaf, and Hadley Rogers.
Per Jerry's final wishes, there will be no viewing prior to burial, and he will be interred at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, at a future date. Services there will be followed by a celebration of life for family and friends.
