Jerry Anthony "Tony" Smith, age 69, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, in Ocean Pines, Maryland. Born in Whaleyville, Maryland, he was the son of the late Clifford Smith and Anna Gertrude (Aydelotte) Smith.
Tony was a master electrician by trade. After years working alongside his brother, Jeff, in 1998, he started his own business, Tony's Electrical Service, Inc. Tony was a fisherman and a hunter. He had an avid love for racehorses and was an owner, trainer, driver and member of the USTA. He was also a member of the Selbyville Elks Club.
He is survived by two sons, Jacob Smith (Brittany) and Timothy Smith, a daughter, Rebecca Smith, a stepdaughter, Jeri Lynn Tucker (AJ), a brother, Bruce Lewis (Cookie), two sisters, Christina Lewis (Ray) and Dottie Mitchell (Eddie), four grandchildren, Kylee Smith, Kayson Joseph, Colby Tucker, and Haley Tucker, and several nieces and nephews. He was also survived by special employees, Sunny Truitt, Mark Hudson, Richard Burton, Chris Justis, and Betty Pruitt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Smith, and his brother, Jeffrey Smith.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville, MD. A reception will follow at the Whaleyville United Methodist Church. Donations may be made in Tony's honor to the Coastal Hospice Stansell House in Ocean Pines. Letters of condolence can be sent to the family via www.burbagefuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of The Burbage Funeral Home.
