Here States the Obituary of a beloved Uncle, Father Figure, Friend, and Above All, a Kindhearted and Genuine Individual. Jessie Howard Lewis, affectionately known as "Buck" or "Chief" by some, was a simple rambling man and king of the road with no greedy or selfish aspirations… a man who found all he truly needed in life, within the realms of Fishing, Music, Conversation and the Warm presence of Family and Friends… never passing up on the chance to have a good time. He Embodied a principle that was ALL too Rare in the world around him, and that is the ability to be truly content with what most would see as "very Little" in terms of Material possession. Those who thoroughly knew him and his Loving Presence, this was one of the traits that made him such a humble and cherished Interaction in their Lives… A few beautiful examples of his genuine nature, among many, would be things such as him playing a large role in raising his nieces and nephews. He could cook fried eggs and hamburger gravy for children that he loved dearly, and whom without him might not have known a "Regular Breakfast!" Spending time with them in fun ways to pass the time such as teaching them how to play poker with his pocket full of "Hobo Change"... and even still, running the chainsaw dry in the wintertime, to keep them warm. Most of all he always stood up for their momma. And for his grand nieces and nephews he had the same if not even more love. The biggest difference being they cared for him as his health declined. It was they who made him meals, helped him get dressed, and took him fishing when the rest of the world kept rushing by. For the Friends and Family that he Leaves behind in this world, as he transitions peacefully into the next chapter of being, Jessie's (Buck's) passing over Will not be seen or Experienced as a matter of "Mourning a Death", but rather a bittersweet and ultimately Joyous Celebration of the Life that he Lived and the Memories which he shared with those who were blessed enough to be in his presence. May his Memory and Essence live on Eternally in the Love and Light that he brought to this World, as well as in the kindness and "Hard Life Wisdom" that he imbued within those he shed his Love upon. Here's to you Buck, you are Loved… you are missed… and you are in our Hearts as we wish you a peaceful Transition into heaven for your beautiful soul! Ad Vitum Aeternam (To Life Eternal) A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, in the mausoleum chapel at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg, Va. Buck, I am saddened that you must journey ahead of us from this plane to the next. I take heart that you will be welcomed in love and open arms of others that have traveled before you, just as you will one day embrace and welcome us. Till then know that I'll be remembering that the cathing is easy, it's the trying that's hard...but I'll be out there trying anyway. You were a ray of light and a blessing in each of our lives, thank you. Love Junior
