Jesus Huerta Obituary

 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jesus “Jessie” Huerta, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on July 22, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on January 1, 1938, to Asuncion Huerta Sr. and Dolores Villanueva in San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico, Jessie’s life was a mosaic of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.

 He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Willie Huerta; sister, Rosie Satterlee; daughter, Dolores Houser; granddaughter, Jenna Donna Hernandez and the mother of his biological children Betty.

A family man at heart, Jessie is survived by his devoted wife, Elva Huerta, who was a shining light in his life. Their bond, which he once described as divinely destined, was solidified in marriage on April 3, 1993. Together, they created a warm and loving family, including their sons, Santos Hernandez of Aransas Pass, Tx, Ricardo Hernandez of Aransas Pass, TX, Jerry Hernandez (Rhonda) of Albuquerque, NM, and Daniel Hernandez (Amanda “Mandi”) of Ingleside, TX; and their daughters, Brenda Rutkowske (Kyle) of Alvin, TX, Donna Hernandez (John Furman) of Aransas Pass, TX, Miranda Cruz (Gary) of Aransas Pass, TX, and Regina Diaz of Aransas Pass, TX, his biological children, Dennis Huerta (Maria) of Clear Lake, Indiana and Jesus Huerta Jr. of Kentucky. He was the proud grandfather to 28 grandchildren, cherished 42 great-grandchildren, and was recently blessed with a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Burckhatter, Ofelia Cypret (Larry), Linda Rogers(Jim), Julie Wright (Johnny), Dorothy King; brothers, Steven Huerta of Stillwater, OK, Ascuncion Huerta Jr. (Lynda) of Bernice, OK.

 Jessie was a man who wore many hats throughout his lifetime. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1959, where he experienced life in Panama and Puerto Rico. He later worked in various roles, from the railroad for a few years, Bridge and Iron Steel and city bus driver ultimately discovering his true calling at Cox Tank Construction in Taft, TX, where he dedicated over 40 years. His journey was marked by hard work and an insatiable desire for knowledge, earning a welding certificate and a GED along the way. 

A vibrant spirit, Jessie cherished weekends spent with his flea market family, where laughter and camaraderie reverberated among friends and fellow vendors. He was a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a listener who offered guidance sprinkled with humor. 

Jessie will be remembered not just for his achievements but for the love and kindness he bestowed upon those fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of devotion that will echo through the hearts of his family and friends. 

In honor of his life, A public viewing will be held at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass on July 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM. A Rosary will be held on July 27, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. Public viewing will take place earlier that same day from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will follow at Charlie Marshall on July 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at San Antonio Cemetery , where Jessie will return to the embrace of the earth he loved.

 As we honor Jessie’s life, let us celebrate the love he shared and the unforgettable moments that will forever live on in our hearts. His memory will be a guiding light, reminding us to cherish our families, live with purpose, and love fiercely.

May he rest in eternal peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
