Jewel Reed Little, age 83, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Jewel was born in Chicago, IL on September 4, 1941, to the late Louie and Valeria Little. He graduated from Crittenden County High School in May of 1960. After graduation, Jewel enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1960. On June 25, 1961, he married his High School Sweetheart; Shelby Simpson Little, who preceded him in death on June 10, 2025. Jewel enjoyed watching Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and Old TV westerns. He also loved to read Louis L'Amour books, and he loved anything John Deere. He was the father of two sons; Richard Alan Little, who preceded him in death in April 2003 and Charles "Chuck" Little from East Prairie, MO who survives. Also surviving is his daughter-in-law, Denise Little of East Prairie, MO, his precious Granddaughter, Decinda Howell and her husband Shane Howell of Charleston, MO and in his Great-Grandson, Tarek Howell. Jewel is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, James and Betty Little of Marion, KY, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, parents and son, Jewel was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Bonnie Little and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Debbie Simpson. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion, KY. Upon moving to East Prairie, Jewel attended Full Gospel Church. Visitation will be at Gilbert Funeral Home in Marion, KY on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00-8:00pm and Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:00 until funeral service at 11:00am with Bro. Kirk Greenfield Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church and Pastor Eric McGruder, Pastor of Full Gospel Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Marion, KY. Online condolences may be shared at www.gilbertfunerals.com. Local arrangements are by McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston, MO.
