Jill Ann Wood, 55, of Weston, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at CAMC- Memorial in Charleston, WV. She was born in Buckhannon, WV on January 2, 1970, daughter of the late Charles Sheets and Dorothy (Debarr) Sheets of Buckhannon, WV. Jill was united in marriage on December 3, 1988 to her loving husband of 36 years, David Earl Wood, who will miss her dearly of Weston, WV.
Cherishing Jill's kind and loving heart are her mother, Dorothy, husband, David, son, Tyler David Wood and companion, Emily Kemper of Bridgeport, WV, brothers, Mike Kelly and wife, Melanie of Buckhannon, Rodney Sheets and fiancé, Danielle of Bracey, VA, and Nick Sheets and wife, Kim of Buckhannon, brother in law, Marty Himes of Cocoa Beach, FL, sister in laws, Stella Poling and husband, JD of Weston, who were like sisters and Joyce Duncan and husband, Brian of Romney, WV, nieces and nephews; Eric Sherrard and wife, Sarah of Weston, Ryan Sherrard of Buckhannon, Christy Corbin of Romney, Kelli Ruckman and husband, Dana of Romney, Jennifer Hatfield and husband, Billy of Cocoa Beach, FL, Michael Kelly and wife, Toni of Buckhannon, and Robert Poling and wife, Kendra of Buckhannon, great nieces and nephews; Zach, Aaron, April, Wes, and Acen Sherrard of Weston, Gunner and Olivia Poling of Buckhannon, Cameron Sheets of Bracey, VA, Helena Hatfield of Cocoa Beach, FL, Hunter McManaway of Romney, Haden Cook of Romney, Melody, Meagan, and Connor Corbin all of Romney, and Allyson Ruckman of Romney.
In addition to her father, Charles, Jill was preceded in death by a sister, Ginger Himes, and her father and mother in law, Earl and Marie Wood.
Jill was a graduate of Buckhannon High School class of 1988, where she showed her school spirit as a cheerleader. Jill's career started at the Citizen's Bank for 18 years, then Pro Contracting in Lost Creek, and was currently working for Appalachian Equipment Solutions in Accounts Payable. Jill had a passion for caring for her cats, Half Pint, Angel, Minnie, Munchie, Spunky, and her newest, Lucky. Jill loved life to the fullest; her love for her family shined and will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, Jill's family have requested donations be made to the Mt. Hermon Church, c/o Susie Campbell, at 42 Aphem Drive Buckhannon, WV 26201 and put in the memo "Backpack" to aide in their Backpack Buddy program.
Family and friends will gather at Hardman Family Funeral Home, 730 N. Main Avenue of Weston on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chad Lewis and David Phillips officiating. Interment will follow services at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew, WV. Online condolences and life stories in memory of Jill may be expressed at hardmanfamilyfuneralhome.com.
