Mr. Jim Norris entered into rest on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the age of 81. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cheraw Church of God by Pastor Billy Norris and Reverend Kevin Rummage. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service in the church.
Mr. Jim Norris was born on October 24, 1943, in Marion, South Carolina, to the late Leo Edward and Mary Lilian Baxley Norris. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Jim was also a gifted artist known for his mastery of automotive painting and pinstriping. Over the years, he brought countless cars and trailers to life with his unique touch, though his greatest passion was customizing hot rods—a craft that brought him immense joy.
Jim’s artistic talents extended beyond the garage. He was also a skilled carpenter, creating beautiful work with wood as effortlessly as he did with paint. An avid outdoorsman, he found peace and fulfillment in nature, especially while bow hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Norris was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rebecca J. Norris; and brother-in-law, Randolph Leviner.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ann Norris of the home; children, Sherrye (Atley) Jackson of Bennettsville, SC, Jamie (Brook) Norris of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Lindsay (Skyler) Hutto, Charlotte Jackson, Anna (Tyler Goegeline) Norris, Evan Norris, Raeleigh Norris; siblings, Billy (Gail) Norris of Wallace, SC, Cathy Leviner of Cheraw, SC, Teresa (Gene) Darby of Timmonsville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
