Jimmy Lynn Bowling, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in Corsicana, Texas on July 3, 2025, just one day after her 73rd birthday. Born in Dallas, Texas ton July 2, 1952, to Jimmie Bill Bowling Sr. and Lena Mae Howard Bowling, Jimmy Lynn lived a life marked by quiet kindness, resilience, and devotion to the people and causes she loved. Her life's journey took her through both Texas and Hawaii, places she held close to her heart.
She found joy in working with young children through Head Start and brought warmth and humor to her role at K-Mart sporting goods department. Later in life she cared for her parents with deep compassion and dedication.
Jimmy Lynn had a great love for books - particularly mysteries and historical stories and found joy in old horror films, trips to movies and spending time with her granddaughter. She had a heart for animals and opened her home to countless strays, giving them love and shelter.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Augusta Adams, son-in-law Andrew Adams and granddaughter Shanlee Zamora, as well as Shanlee's father Samuel Zamora. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Anderson, brother Jimmie Bowling Jr., and many cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Johnny Udell Harris.
Jimmy Lynn will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
Viewing will be Wednesday from 9am - 6pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A private committal service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park.
