JoAnn Kubeczka Duckett, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas on July 11, 2025. She fought a courageous battle.
JoAnn was born on January 20, 1953, in Houston, Texas to Ted and Pauline (Grabarkievtz) Kubeczka. She met the love of her life, Billy Bruce Duckett while riding to work on the Metro bus. They were married on November 6, 1981 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Davis and husband, Mark; a son, Billy Ray Duckett and wife, Hazel. Grandchildren, Hayden, Greysen, Isabella, and Ethan Duckett.
She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Kubeczka and wife, Carolyn, sisters, Mary Lane and husband Jerry, Peggy Griffin and husband Donnie, Paula Janota and husband Donald, and Veronica Wesneski and husband Mark along with numerous nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, parents, Ted & Pauline Kubeczka, sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Thomas Miles, Mother-in-law and Father-in-Law, Willie and Vida Duckett, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, June and Hubert Shelton, Alice and Bill Mikulin and great nephew, Evan Miles.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Matt Miles, Billy Miles, Joey Kubeczka, Josh Griffin, Donnie Janota, and Elliot Janota.
