Joan Jean Behringer, 93, received her official "YOO HOO" from her Savior and passed away at home on January 4, 2025.
Born March 18, 1931 daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Nemecek) Houska she married John E. Behringer December 3, 1949. He preceded her in death December 2, 1995.
Joan was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and St. John's Ladies Quilting Group. She was a prolific quilter and reader, a world traveler visiting many parts of the United States as well as many other countries, and loved riding in her '93 Mustang Convertible. Joan enjoyed doing many activities at St. John's School including planting and maintaining the flower gardens.
Joan is survived by 3 sons, John Jr. (Debbie) Behringer, Joel (Brenda) Behringer and Paul (Shari) Behringer; 6 daughters, Linda Quandt, Jean Behringer, Jill (John) Benoit, Carol Drews, Mary Kay Behringer, and Ruth (Scott) Thompson; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; also survived by a brother, Butch Houska; 3 sisters, Joyce Frank, Pat Krause and Peggy Zenk.
Along with her parents and her husband John, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Behringer; a daughter, Jane Behringer; a sister, Mary Ann; a brother, Kenneth Houska; and a son-in-law, Courtney Quandt.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8th at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover from 9:00 am until time of services at 11:00 am with Pastor Daniel Sargent officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home is serving the family.
