Joan Irene Krantz Brautigam, 92, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Lancaster, California. Born on August 10, 1932, in Cameron, Wisconsin, she lived a long and fulfilling life marked by dedication to her family, faith, and community.
Joan built a respected career in accounting, working in Accounts Payable at Boeing for 19 years, then on to customer service at Walmart until she officially retired to help care for her grandsons. Later, her professional journey continued at Burkey, Cox, Evans and Bradford, where she remained a valued team member until the age of 85-a testament to her strong work ethic and commitment.
A devoted mom, gram and great-gram, Joan's legacy lives on through her children and their families: daughter Laura Brautigam; son Brian Brautigam and daughter Mary Mettler. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Michael Brautigam. Joan is also survived by her brother, Michael Krantz.
Her life was deeply rooted in faith and fellowship. Joan was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She actively participated in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over sixty years. Joan was also a faithful member of the Miriam Sisters Bible Study Group. These communities were an important part of her spiritual life and personal joy, and the many, many lifelong friends she made were very dear to her heart.
In honor of Joan's memory, donations may be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
