Joyce Ann (Blacksten) Golden passed away on March 20, 2025. Born January 3, 1943 in New Windsor, Maryland, she was the only child of Rosanna Boyd Blacksten and Kenneth Blacksten.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Golden; a son, Gregory Golden; a daughter, Susan Baker; and a half-brother, Gary Blacksten, son of Kenneth Blacksten.
She is survived by a son, Michael Golden; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Richard Blacksten, son of Kenneth Blacksten.
Joyce graduated from Westminster High School in 1961. She attended Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1964. She worked in the operating room at Holy Cross Hospital and later as a CNOR at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore for 21 years, until her retirement in 1998.
Joyce was a faithful member of the Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, where she taught preschool Sunday School and the adult Fidelis Bible Class.
She was true to her faith and family. She is dearly missed.
