Martha JoAnn Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, was born on December 24, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Bridgeport, Texas.
JoAnn’s life was marked by a dedication to her family and a commitment to helping others. She earned an Associate's degree as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, a testament to her compassionate nature and her desire to care for those in need. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life and into her home, where she created a warm and loving environment for her family.
She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her son, Jeff Davis and his wife Pattie of Bridgeport, and her daughter, Eddi Carpenter and her husband Bucky, also of Bridgeport. JoAnn took great pride in being a grandmother to Jason Carpenter and his wife Loren, Jamey Carpenter, Ashley Vick and her husband Willie, and Sammy Davis. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her great-grandchildren: Brendan Berk, Maddie Berk, Gage Vick, Keenan Vick and his wife Alyssa, and Paisley Vick, who will all remember her loving spirit.
JoAnn was fortunate to have a special bond with her very best friend, Jim Baird, who stood by her side through thick and thin, sharing countless memories that shaped their lives.
JoAnn is now reunited with her parents, Gloy and Alice Stone, and her dear son, Kent Davis and his wife Jo Davis. She is also with her brothers, Tommy, Ray, Robert, and David Stone, who all preceded her in death. Their presence will surely be felt as her family gathers to honor her remarkable life.
The community is invited to celebrate JoAnn’s life. Visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hawkins Funeral Home Bridgeport, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Thomas Cemetery.
JoAnn Davis touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever hold close the love she shared.
