Haskins, JoAnn Elizabeth, of Flint, age 78, died Thursday, June 26, 2025, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Trinty Baptist Church. Pastor James Brabson will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
JoAnn was born in Flint, Michigan on November 8, 1946, the daughter of Alfred William and Elizabeth Content (Mills) Walsh. She married Roger Haskins in 1975. JoAnn graduated from Swartz Creek High School and later from Baker College. She worked for many years as a Medical Assistant, retiring from Dr. Saha's office after over 12 years in 2000. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church for over 24 years, prior to that, she had been a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. JoAnn sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and worked in AWANA for 54 years and helped with the Harvest Fest. Together with her husband, Roger, they built two homes and went on a mission trip to Brazil. JoAnn enjoyed walking the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day, one time the wind was over 40 mph and they had to close the bridge down, but JoAnn was already on the bridge, so she had to finish her walk. JoAnn was competitive, especially with her husband and enjoyed playing Rook, croquet, and volleyball. JoAnn's four foundations of her life were Faith, Family, Friends, and Flowers.
JoAnn is survived by her husband, Roger; children, Wallace Synder, II, Dr. Annie McGregor D.D. Ph.D; grandchildren, Carrie (Steve), Wallace, III (Holly), Stephanie (Joel), Samantha; many great-grandchildren; siblings, David Walsh, Susan (Bob) Burger, Alfred (Jeanne) Walsh; nieces and nephews, Robbie, Angela, Jennifer, Isaac, Jesse; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
