Surviving is her son, John Defreitas of Peoria; grandchildren, Nicholas Defreitas, and Bradley Defreitas; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding, Joanne in death were her parents; grandson, Zachary, four brothers, and two sisters.
She was a supply manager, working for a wholesale florist in Peoria, retiring after 45 years of service. She was a member of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed spending time and talking with her grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM on Saturday July 12, 2025 at Endsley-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Bartonville. Following the visitation on Saturday, graveside services and burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Peoria. Rev. Curtis Atchley will officiate. Gonzo, my lifelong friend, so sorry for this and wish I could be there. You were there for your mom through all the difficult times you've had together, especially recently, and you will never regret that. Please stay strong for your family.
