On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Joanne Gray of Westfield, Wisconsin passed away suddenly, but surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Frances Lisner.
Joanne is survived by Zane, her husband of almost 48 years; son, Zane (Kate); daughters, Sarah (Mark) and Jennifer (Kyle); five loving grandchildren, Greyson, Liam, Lylah, Aria and Arwen; three brothers, Charles, Mark (Char), Michael (Melissa); two sisters, Tina (Mike) and MaryAnn (John); brother-in-law, Darcy (Carole) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard; brother-in-law, Danny; sisters-in-law, Dawn and Debbie, as well as mother-in-law, Nancy and father-in-law, Ken.
Joanne was born in Chicago, Illinois in February of 1955. The family owned multifamily homes, where she had the pleasure of being raised with grandparents, aunts and uncles. The family moved to Lombard, Illinois in 1960 where she was blessed with so many early memories of time spent with family and friends. She was known for being creative (with excellent fine art skills) and a lover of animals, especially cats. While she had a giant loving heart and looked like a little angel, her brothers can attest that she didn't back down from a fight. She had a love for music, and summer nights in those early years were spent in the backyard with 45's spinning on the record player.
In the late seventies, Joanne married Zane and together they raised three beautiful children -- and several cats. The highlights of Joanne's later years are time spent with her mother, her adult children and her grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. The young ones would likely say she was a fierce video game opponent and a heck of an arm wrestler. She also made special holiday memories and gave her mother a challenge of baking the perfect holiday treats which she enjoyed immensely. Despite living in Wisconsin for most of her adult life, she remained a loyal Chicago Bears fan.
Joanne was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She left this earth much too soon and will be forever treasured in our hearts. We pray for her eternal peace and the peaceful healing of her loved ones. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th from 1-3 pm at the American Legion building 452 N. Main St., Westfield.
