JoAnne Askew Huff, 83, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. She was born on April 10, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Dorothy DiArman Askew and James Askew. She was a lovely woman who had a giving spirit and loved helping others.
JoAnne spent her free time volunteering, daydreaming, reading, tutoring children who were learning English, shopping in Little 5 Points, going to craft festivals, watching scary movies and riding motorcycles with her husband. She truly had a zest for life and was eager to share it with others. She was a pillar in her community, as she ran a health foods store in Cumming, Georgia and also was a mentor for several children during her years working for Fulton County. JoAnne was always supportive and protective of the people she loved, always encouraging her loved ones and offering words of wisdom. Her loving presence will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, JoAnne is preceded in death by her loving husband, Mr. Henry Norman Huff.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (LaDonna) Huff, and Kevin (Tina) Huff; daughters, Cindy McLendon, and Catherine (Bob) Moser; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim (Elaine) Askew and John (Bobbi) Askew; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 3:00 PM in the Chapel. Interment will take place at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville.
