Joel Leon Arrington 65, of Waynesville went to his eternal home on July 21, 2025. A lifelong native of Haywood County he was born on April 18, 1960, to Bonner and Betty Sorrells Arrington. He is preceded by his siblings Phillip Arrington, Timothy Arrington and his twin sister Joy Arrington.

Joel loved his family they were his whole world. He was a proud father he would spend every free minute with his son Logan. Logan was his best friend they loved to go camping, fishing in Cherokee and on the Tuckasegee River. He loved the western North Carolina Mountains he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Bear Lake. Joel retired from Welco after 28 years and started the best job any Papaw could have, spending time with his grandkids Lucas and Kyleigh. He was a big NASCAR fan and loved going to the races.

Left to share his memories is his loving son Logan Arrington and his fiancé Sierra Campbell. Joels grandbabies Lucas and Kayleigh Arrington. His siblings are Iris Davis, Toby Arrington, Betsy McMahon and his nieces and nephews. Along with numerous family and friends

A Celebration will be held at a later date with family and friends.

Joel will be deeply missed by his family, who will carry an emptiness in their hearts that cannot be filled. The love he gave so freely, his quiet wisdom, his loving smile, and his comforting presence will forever remain in their hearts. Though he is no longer with us, Joel's memory will continue to be shared through his family and friends.
