Joel Creydt Obituary

Joel Richard Creydt, age 72, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025 in Eau Claire, WI. Joel was born on May 10, 1953 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Omer and Ardis (Mueller) Creydt. He was a 1971 graduate of Monona Grove High School and a 1975 graduate of UW-River Falls with a degree in Business Administration. Joel was employed by Kraft as a manager of food plants in Austin, MN, Glencoe, MN, and Eau Claire, WI.
In 1988, Joel met the love of his life and was united in marriage to Pamela Schmidt on October 7, 1989 in Birnamwood, WI. For 32 years Pam was always at Joel's side, left a lifetime of smiles, and was a gift from God. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2020. With Pam, family, and friends, Joel enjoyed life, cruising, and vacations visiting 49 states and many national parks. Gatherings with family and friends were a real treat for Joel, especially the homemade desserts. Joel also looked forward to special visits from his nieces and nephews, playing cards and board games, and watching a good ballgame.
Joel is survived by his siblings Terry (Lydia) Creydt, Lynne Glinski, and Cynthia (Tony) Brooks, mother-in-law Suzanne Schmidt, in-laws Randy (Sandy) Schmidt, Judi (Andy) Resch, Lauri (Mark) Klumpyan, and Todd (Kelly) Schmidt. In addition, special nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Trisha) Schmidt, Eric (Alicia) Resch, Kyle Resch, Cody (Kimberly) Schmidt, Nicole (Matt) McKone, Kyra (Aaron) Gardner, Logan Schmidt, Lilly (Matt) Schumacher, Colin (Nikki) Klumpyan, Jeremy (Lori) Carver, Samuel (Meaghan) Creydt, Benjamin Creydt, Jeffrey (Bethany) Glinski, Daniel Glinski, Nathan (Haley) Brooks, and Grant (Rachel) Brooks. Joel is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews and a special group of friends who have been there for him for many years.
Joel was preceded in death by his wife Pam, parents Omer and Ardis Creydt, sister Mary Creydt, father-in-law Milton Schmidt, and sister-in-law Susan Schmidt. A special thank you goes out to Dove Healthcare staff and nurse, Emily.
The family would like to acknowledge the strong role model that Joel was with his positive attitude, resilience, and uplifting outlook on life even while enduring a debilitating physical condition.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Birnamwood. Rev. Jennifer Sosinski will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 9 AM until the time of service at the church.
