John Chris Abfalter
Lansing, Michigan
Passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the age of 86. Born December 8, 1938 to John and Charlotte (Wicks) Abfalter in Lansing, Michigan. John worked as a crane operator for Summit Steel for many years and later worked for Wolverton in Lansing. John liked to tinker and could fix nearly anything. He had a special passion for dune buggy riding and enjoyed taking trips to Ludington where he would camp and ride his dune buggy that he built. John also enjoyed fishing, listening to music and books on tape on his iPad. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. John was loved dearly and will be missed by all who remember him. Preceding him in death were grandchildren, Chris Bebow, Ashley Chambers; son-in-law, Alan Chambers; brothers, Merle, Roger, Bill as well as his parents.
Surviving is his wife, Pauline Abfalter; daughter, Michelle Chambers; step-children, Rose (James) Combs, Sharon (Jeffrey) Stephens, Jane (Monte) Griffon, Steven (Carol) Bebow; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; sister, Mary Allen as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of John's Life will be held at Noon on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 3006 W. Jolly Rd. Lansing, MI 48911. To share memories and condolences please visit www.SkinnerFuneralHomes.com
