Age 85, of Pavilion, passed away on June 29, 2025 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia after a brief illness.
He was born on September 14, 1939 in Mackeyville, PA to the late Ray E. and Sara H. Lucas Beck. John was a graduate of Pavilion Central School. He married Karen Callaro on February 14, 1970.
John enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, working on his tractors, telling jokes and sitting on the porch for hours talking to his neighbor and best friend Gene Hickey. He especially took great joy in riding his Harley, which earned him the beloved nickname “Grandpa Vroom Vroom”.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Karen, and son, Dean A. Beck.
John is survived by his son, Terry L. (Jill) Beck of Pavilion; daughter, Peggy J. Clapp of Oramel; sister, Carolyn Closser of Rossburg; 8 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
Services for John will be private. Burial will take place at Mt. Ash Cemetery in Covington, NY.
