John Arthur Boyko, age 74 of Greeneville, TN died peacefully at his home on Saturday July 5 th 2025 after a courageous battle with Lukemia. John was born on November 14 th 1950 to John Henry Boyko and Elsie Mae (Malstrom) Boyko in Bridgeport Ct. John spent the majority of his life living in CT before relocating to Tennessee
with his wife Janet in 2006.
John was an exceptionally skilled trim carpenter and builder and was highly sought after in his trade. He attended Stratford High School in Stratford Ct and graduated in 1968. He attended Housatonic College in Bridgeport Ct as well. Upon graduating college he hitchhiked across the country to San Francisco Ca. He worked at Burritts Lumber where he made the church pews for St Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. A church where he was an altar boy with his cousin Ronnie. He worked for many a builder and customer. He worked at Sykorski in Stratford Ct where he was the youngest lead man running 29 men. He also worked for Joe Caselli as the Forman for Home Building Construction where he built many of new homes. John and his son John worked for many years together on many jobs. After relocating here John earned the respect of a lot of people here showing his hard workmanship and became dear friends and loved by many people. John became great friends with the people he worked for including Lynn Hope, Keith Hope, Rex Miller Jr, Russ Miller, Rex Miller Sr and Ronnie Crum. There are so many to list as he seemed to leave a special place in everyone's heart. Our family thanks everyone for all the love. Thank you.
John was an avid reader of many books on world history. He loved to go to the flea market always with the hope of scoring something. He loved to collect many things and attend toy and military shows John also had a love of corvettes, but nothing came close to his profound love for his wife Janet of 43 years and his 2 sons, John Francis Boyko, of Shelton Ct and Michael Paul Boyko of Johnson City Tn. John was a family man first and would drop anything at a moment's notice for his family. He was always someone you could count on, whether in work or life. John would always show up.
John was pre-deceased by his wife Janet Ann (Salik) Boyko in 2016 as well as his sister Barbara (Boyko) Gniadek, and his parents John Henry Boyko and Elsie Mae (Malstrom) Boyko.
He is survived by his 2 sons John Francis Boyko (Kelli Wildman) of Shelton, CT and Michael Paul Boyko of Johnson City, TN. as well as 6 grandchildren Ally Kutzer 28 of Enfield Ct, Jason Boyko 27, Johnson City TN, Justin Boyko 22, Jacob Boyko 20, Isabella Boyko 18, and Lucas Boyko 17 all of Clover Sc. He also leaves 2 nieces who were the daughters he never had: Joanne Gniadek Sims (Ron) of Bedminster, NJ and Michelle Gniadek Knotts (Don) of Pulaski, VA. as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He leaves behind his special and forever friend Nancy Bickmore. Thank you from all of us

It´s hard to believe I´ll never talk to him again. Close friends for many many years. For the past 30 years or so he never missed calling me on my birthday. Love you John Boy. I miss you.

We are so saddened to hear of John´s passing. We too considered him a good friend. Needless to say we think of him all the time as he did so much work in our home. He was blessed with a craft that compares to no one, top notch for sure. My entire family will cherish his memory. Our deepest sympathy to his boys. Much love, Nancy, Wayne, Jim and Joe Coury
