John Clancy, born in the bustling Bronx of New York on December 11, 1942, left us on May 27, 2025. John, a man of many talents and immense passion, spent the majority of his professional life as an accomplished tool man with Boeing for 30 years before retiring at the age of 55. He was a man who lived by the words of legendary writer, Mark Twain, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and indeed, John was always eager to start, whether it was a complex project at work or a simple task at home.
Despite his Bronx birth, John was a true Pacific Northwesterner at heart, having made Maple Valley, Washington his beloved home. Known for his dedication, perseverance, and love for his family, John was a beacon of light to those around him. His vibrant spirit was infectious, his wisdom profound. He was a man who, in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "did not go where the path may lead, [but instead] go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
John is survived by wife of 46 years Beverly, his stepchildren, Jim, Nick, Rhonda and Vicki Rae who he cherished dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Bridget Clancy, who instilled in him the values of hard work, love, and resilience. John's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, 17 June 2025, starting with a viewing at 10:00am at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel in Kent, Washington. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00am at the same location. As a final tribute, a graveside service with military honors will be held at 12:30pm at Tahoma National Cemetery.
In the words of Albert Pine, "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." John's legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide us. We invite you to share your favorite memories and upload photos to the memorial page to honor John's remarkable life.
