Obituary of John D'Angelo
John D'Angelo of Peekskill, New York, passed away on June 15, 2025. He was 93 years of age.
John was born in Naples, Italy, on September 27, 193,1, to Narciso and Felomena (Delucia) D'Angelo.
He emigrated to the United States in 1952, less than a month shy of his 21st birthday.
John was a stone mason by trade. He showed his pride in being an American citizen by giving back to his community with more than 50 years of service as a volunteer fireman with the City of Peekskill Fire Department, rising to the rank of Captain.
John was an avid hunter and gardener. He enjoyed travel, his pasta and his homemade wine. He is survived by his four children: John D'Angelo, Jr. (Susan); Gloria Gilmartin; Mary Iaccarino (Mike); and Lisa Pericelli (Frank), as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters: Maria D'Addio of Denver, North Carolina and Grazia D'Angelo of Trieste, Italy, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Assumption on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:30 am.
Entombment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
