John David Evans, age 75, of Electra, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church in Electra, with Anthony Martinez, Pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.
David was born in Cabool, Missouri on July 31, 1949, a son of the late Dean Evans and Doril Baker Evans.
He came to know the Lord at a young age while attending church in the Pea Ridge Community of Cabool. David attended the early grades of his schooling at Pea Ridge Country School until they consolidated with Cabool Schools.
David relocated to Electra, Texas in 1966 where he has lived except for a two year stint in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He and Brenda Kay King were married May 15, 1993 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
David was loved by everyone in the Electra community as he was a very hard worker and helped care for anyone who needed it. David was also very innovative and if you needed something he did not know how to do, he could figure it out. He was a very compassionate man and especially cared for the animals of his back yard.
He retired from C-E Natco as a welder. David then started a handyman and lawn service business where he worked until just three weeks ago.
David is survived by his wife, Brenda, with whom he shared a loving home for thirty-three years; five children, Tania Yarbrough and husband, Quincy, Christopher Evans, Dale Walters and wife, Casey, Roy Walters and wife, Nicki, Tammy Walters; his siblings, Clara, Donald and wife, Sheila, Mark, Cora and Michael, all of Cabool, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Donald Evans, Mark Evans, Michael Evans, Jerry Southerland, John Taylor and Quincy Yarbrough.
The family suggests memorials to First Assembly of God Church, 401 East Harrison Ave., Electra, Texas 76360 or Rathgeber Hospitality House, 1615 Twelfth St., Wichita Falls, Texas 76301.
