John Carl Greer, 70, of Heber Springs, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1955, in Nuremberg, Germany to the late, Jake and Billie Greer.

John’s Dad served in the Army and was on his first European tour when John was born. He served in the Army in Germany for two tours, one in Nuremberg and one in Munich, Germany. Most recently, John enjoyed researching and discussing their stay in Munich. After Europe, their family moved to Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Columbus, Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia, Ozark, Alabama, and then to Little Rock, Arkansas where he met Linda and they began their life together. They spent 40 years there and then moved to Heber Springs to fish and slow down.

He loved fly fishing, listening to music, he could build or fix anything, and loved car racing, in particular Formula One. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America, where he raced in Pro Rallies; but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived, by his wife of 46 years, Linda; his son, John; his grandchildren, Braylee, Rylee, and Camden; his siblings, Jimmy Scott Greer, Tammy Pittman, and Tracy (Mike) Blakley; two nieces; one nephew; and his best buddy, Saffie; his wired hair fox terrier.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
