John Webb, a beacon of joy and love, left this world on July 12, 2025, at the tender age of seven years, eleven months, and 28 days. Born on July 15, 2017, in McAlester, Oklahoma. His departure in Wilburton, Oklahoma, has left a silence that is felt deeply by his family and friends.
John's journey was a testament to the power of love and the magic of music. Though he was mostly non-verbal, John spoke the universal language of tunes and beats. His Spotify account was a treasure trove of Disney melodies that could turn any frown upside down.
At King Elementary School in Van Buren, Arkansas, John held the hearts of his teachers and fellow students. He collected awards and medals like they were going out of style, but the real prize was his presence. John's sweet and loving nature was his superpower, and he wielded it with the finesse of a seasoned superhero.
John's family was his fortress of support and love. He leaves behind his mother and step-father, Kayla Bailey and Josh Medcalf; his father, Michael Webb; his band of brothers and sisters: Landen, Ryker, Wyatt, Nathaniel, Sophia, and Demi; his cheering squad of grandparents: Deborah Van Luven, Stacey and Raymond Kennedy, and David and Karllatta Medcalf; his uncles: Dylan Guess and wife, Jenny, Michael Bailey, and Manny Bailey; his aunt, Ashlynn Kennedy; his god-parents, Natia and Nickalas Hauff; and his honorary papa, Leroy Aaron. Each of them played a unique note in the symphony of John's life.
John now joins his maternal grandfather, John Charles Bailey, in heaven, where the choir has undoubtedly gained a discerning ear for music.
John Webb was the embodiment of pure joy. He was the kind of kid who could teach a masterclass in loving without words, using only smiles and the world's best hugs. His legacy is a reminder that the language of love is the most powerful of all, and that a life, no matter how brief, can be a masterpiece when it's composed of kindness.
So, let's crank up the Disney tunes, and remember John Webb, the little guy who could hug the sadness out of a grumpy cat. His melody will play on in the hearts of those who loved him, forever in perfect pitch.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Dana Hugle officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Pallbearers will be Michael Webb, Joshua Medcalf, Manny Bailey, Michael Bailey, Dylan Guess, and Nickalas Hauff.
