I know that words won't really help ease your loss, but our thoughts and prayers are with you Kay, Ryan, Irene, and Marcia; along with John's cousins, nieces and nephews, and his friends, as I know that he will be greatly missed by you all. Denise & I didn't see John all that often, occasionally at holiday events over the years when they were hosted at Melissa's (Buffy's) but even in those limited meetings it was clear that he was a really good guy who always had a cheerful, funny, and most importantly, a kind word to share. Goodspeed John F Mahoney, when you get done with a round of golf, I'm sure Buffy has a drink and some apps for you on the heavenly patio where the 4th July BBQ is always in season.

I have no words. John and I fought many battles on the Rutland Rugby Pitch together back in the day. He threw a big going away party for me at his apartment in Rutland when I decided to leave VT to pursue a career in FL back in 1990. I was lucky enough to spend a weekend at the PGA Championship back in May of this year with him and my brother Paul. Cherished memories for sure. Gone but never forgotten. RIP my friend.

My deepest sympathy. John was a sweet man. Always looked forward to seeing him and Ryan playing on Father's Day and Paul playing league at LSCCC. I'm so sorry.

A FEW WEEKS AGO, WE WWERE BLESSED WITH SPENDING TIME WITH John and Kay at a graduation party. We laughed as we remembered stories from our younger days. We also spoke of retirement, and found it humorous when we discussed what we all felt was the perfect way to relax. We joined in when he joked around, and made fun of his best friend Paul. Kay and John were wonderful people to be around.
John's name came up 3 times the week prior to his passing. Local people of Castleton dropped his name as a plumber to call, as his work was meticulous. We were waiting to call John after the Holiday weekend to ask him to visit my daughters new home purchase as we had questions about a plumbing leak. John had encouraged us to call him and stop by his home, as he welcomed the opportunity to help us with the new home purchase. We had planned to enjoy his company and that of his adoring wife Kay, in the summer months to follow.
His presence will be missed; on the golf course, as a family man, a dedicated professional, as a loyal friend, and the man with the ability to make an new person feel at ease. He was a genuine gentleman, .... unless, of course his best friend Paul pulled his back hair!!.
Fly with the Angels John.
Kay we are praying for you and your Peace.
