John Anderson McNeil, Jr., age 80, formerly of Sneedville, TN went to his heavenly home June 15th, 2025.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Anderson McNeil, Sr. and Angelina Cerone McNeil; father-in-law, Charles Tent; mother-in-law, Helen Trent; grandson, Eain Cage Heck; and granddaughter, Clara Kate.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice McNeil; son, Mark McNeil; daughter, Jennifer Lawson; daughter, Julie (Earl) Heck; son, Mike McNeil; daughter, Angela (Thomas) Harrison; brother, Hugh (Sara) McNeil; sister, Phyllis Delph; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Missy (Wesley) Seal; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
John was in the funeral business for 64 years. He was a hardworking Christian man who throughout his life helped many people. Always kind and respected by everyone he met. He had too many accomplishments to mention. John loved the Lord. He loved to attend church and did so until his illness made him unable. John will be remembered as a wonderful dad and grandfather.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 12:00 – 3:00 PM at Duck Creek Baptist Church, 1987 Duck Creek Road, Sneedville, Tennessee 37869. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 pm with Rev. Kester Bunch officiating and immediately followed by a procession to Heck- Winstead Cemetery for graveside services. Pallbearers will be the grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaylon Riggs, Michael Bell, Justin Bell, Dale Stapleton, Earl Heck, and David Gillette.
