John Paul Mochan, an embodiment of cherished memories, was born on March 12, 1937. He embarked on his earthly journey, enriching the lives of those around him, until his peaceful departure on August 2, 2025. John’s legacy is etched in the hearts of family, friends, and colleagues alike.

John dedicated his entire working career to J&L Steel, which later became LTV Steel. Beyond the confines of his profession, John's personality shone brightly. Often called "Mr. Fix-It," he possessed an uncanny ability to mend all things mechanical. Not a small engine escaped his skilled hands, and family and friends would often marvel at his expertise and resourcefulness.

Those who knew John indulged in his vibrant and often humorous disposition. He famously quipped, "Are we gonna do this, or what?" This spirited and unfiltered commentary characterized his lively approach to life. A lover of music and dance, he found joy in the rhythms that propelled life forward, relishing moments of celebration and connection. His heart would soar with each step on the dance floor, and he embraced each note with a vigor that stirred the soul.

Among his myriad of passions, hunting held a special place in John's heart, with deer camp marking the pinnacle of his yearly activities. Road trips across the expansive tapestry of America left him with treasured stories—his ten-week vacation encompassing travels from the dawn-lit streets of Detroit to the sun-kissed expanses of California, transcending to the awe-inspiring vistas of the Grand Canyon and the majestic Yellowstone. Each journey was a testament to his adventurous spirit and zest for life.

John is survived by his beloved daughters, Linda (James) Rotarius and Nancy Mochan, who carry forward not only his name but his indomitable spirit. The legacy of his family continues with his cherished grandsons, Paul (Lisa) Rotarius and Timothy (Whitney) Rotarius, who add new dimensions to his enduring lineage, and his great-granddaughter, Isabella, who will remember him through stories of his life and adventures.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Maryann (Ray) Ringley and Robert (Josie) Garland. They, too, will hold dear the collective memories shared, echoing the lessons of love, endurance, and the importance of family that John instilled in all.

John's life, while filled with journeys and narratives, is perhaps best defined by the warmth he cultivated among his loved ones. He now joins his late wife, Maggie Mochan, and sons, James and David Mochan, who await him in eternity, embracing him in love and peace.

A Visitation to honor John's extraordinary life will be held on August 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wysocki & Wilk Funeral Home, located at 29440 Ryan Rd, Warren, MI 48092. He will be In-state from 9 AM to 10 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 10 AM on, August 7, 2025, at the same place.

As we gather to celebrate John Paul Mochan, let us remember a man whose laughter resonated through the lives he touched, whose unsolicited wisdom was shared with everyone, and whose love, much like the boundless roads he traveled, remains a lasting journey in our hearts.
