John Naler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Radney Funeral Home - Alexander City on Jul. 3, 2025.
Memorial Service for Mr. John Wesley Naler, 66, of Alexander City, will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 5:30 pm at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Bro. Kevin James, Jr. will officiate. In honor of John's memory the family would like to invite attendees to wear their favorite island wear.
John Wesley Naler, a man of intelligence, adventure, and humor, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. His life was a testament to the joy and dedication he brought to every endeavor. John's spirit and laughter will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Born to Jimmy Ray Naler and Sandra Duck Davis on January 26, 1959, in Alexander City, AL. He is survived by his children, Susy and Jarrod Naler; his sisters, Traci (Mickey) Sewell and Jessica (Jody) Johnson, his brother, Brent Wright, and his beloved wife, Dianne Naler, his mother, Sandra and his Aunt, Celia (Jimmy) Graham as well as his faithful companion, Aubie Dog, who will also feel the absence of his warm presence.
John served his country with honor in the United States Army, a period of his life that shaped his character and instilled in him a sense of discipline and service. Following his military career, he dedicated 39 years to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), where his work ethic and camaraderie left a lasting impact on his colleagues.
John's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He had a talent for playing the guitar, creating music that brought joy to family gatherings and quiet evenings at home. Bowling was another of his favorite pastimes, where his competitive spirit and sense of fun made him a cherished member of his bowling league. John was also known for his culinary skills, particularly his grilling and his legendary low country boils that became the centerpiece of many memorable occasions.
An avid wine maker, John found joy in the careful crafting of his wines, sharing them with friends and family who eagerly anticipated each new batch. His green thumb was evident in the meticulously kept yard and the inviting oasis he created around his pool, where many found relaxation and fellowship.
Those who knew John will remember him as a man who lived life to the fullest. His intelligence shone through in his quick wit and his ability to solve problems with ease. His adventurous spirit led him to explore new hobbies and experiences, always with a sense of excitement and curiosity. Above all, John's sense of humor was a gift that he shared generously, bringing laughter and lightness to every situation.
John Wesley Naler's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we take comfort in the memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His story is one of a life that, though ended, will continue to inspire and influence all who were fortunate enough to know him.
