John Petersen Obituary

John Petersen, 76 of Middletown, New Jersey passed away at HMH Jersey Shore University Medical Center on July 6th 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on June 12th 1949 in Brooklyn, New York and has resided in Middletown for the past 37 years. He graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in 1967. He worked in the heating industry for most of his life out of New York. His greatest passion was being out fishing on a boat along the New York and Jersey Shore.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Francine Saia Petersen; daughter, Michele Petersen Ryder and her husband William Ryder of Middletown; daughter, Stephanie Petersen of Middletown; son, John Michael Petersen of Keansburg; grandchildren Hailey and Tristan Ryder, Cayden and Tatum Petersen; sisters, Rosemary and Margaret Petersen of Belford, and Eileen DiPietro of Atlantic Highlands.
He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Petersen, mother, Anne B. Petersen, and sister, Charlotte DiReda.
Visitation will be held at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindal Rd., Middletown on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 5-8 pm.
A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at Mary Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree farm Rd., Middletown.
