John Edward Prymuszewski, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Killeen, Texas. He was 81 years old.

Born on August 25, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey, John was the son of the late Frank Prymuszewski and Anna Brzostowski. He proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam as a member of the United States Air Force. After his distinguished military service, John embarked on extensive travels. During this time, he was introduced to higher education through a geology club in Baytown, sparking his interest in Earth's ancient history. This early curiosity eventually evolved into a profound love for more recent history and literature, subjects he pursued at the University of North Texas, earning a bachelor’s degree in history. He dedicated his career to teaching, inspiring countless students with his knowledge and enthusiasm.

John was a deeply family-oriented man, finding immense joy in time spent with his loved ones. Beyond his professional life, he was a man of diverse interests. An avid conservator, he also enjoyed kayaking, embracing the beauty of the outdoors. His passion for the outdoors also led to many memorable rock hounding trips across Texas with his family. His meticulous nature shone through in his love for model railroad trains, a hobby he pursued with great dedication. John's intellectual curiosity was matched only by his profound love for English literature, history, music, and the arts, subjects he continued to explore throughout his life.

John is survived by his children: John Prymuszewski of Killeen, Texas; Mark and his wife Irene Prymuszewski of Liberty, Maine; Jennifer Prymuszewski-Williams and her husband Bryan of Nolanville, Texas; and Margaret Prymuszewski-Jones and her husband Kevin of Temple, Texas. He was a grandfather to Christopher and Kaylee Prymuszewski of Temple, Texas; Catherine Jones of Norfolk, Virginia; Casey Jones of Killeen, Texas; and Caleb Williams, Cassidy Williams, and Samuel Williams of Nolanville, Texas. John was also a proud great-grandfather to Faerin Prymuszewski. He is also survived by his sisters Margaret and Carole Prymuszewski of New Jersey, and his sister Theresa Prymuszewski of Maryland. He leaves behind many cousins in Florida and New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his brother Francis Prymuszewski.

John's kind spirit, intellectual curiosity, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please donate a tree in his name through www.alivingtribute.org. Cards can be mailed to 1400 E Ave H #63 Nolanville, TX 76559 c/o Jennifer Prymuszewski.
