John Thomas Ramsey, age 66 of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Marion General Hospital. He was born January 13, 1958 to John Thomas Ramsey and Annie Josephine Robertson and they preceded him in death. He married his loving wife of 27 years, Cheryl (Glasco) Ramsey on April 3, 1998 and she survives.
He is survived by sons John T. (Trish) Ramsey III, Brandon (Tina) Ramsey, and Bobby Ramsey; sisters Lillie Belle Christian, Lucille Belew; 4 grandsons, 3 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very special niece and nephew Lindsey and Logan; and a special cousin Pam (Todd) Sanders. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Alice Ramsey, and Lorene Matlock.
John was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School in Tennessee, then achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He was pastor of Grace Independent Baptist Church in Byhalia and he owned Hardin County Monument Company for many years. He was a multi-talented musician who could play any instrument as well as a gifted vocalist with musical talent like that of Randy Travis and Johnny Cash. He was an artist, often painting beautiful pictures, he loved to fish, spend time outdoors, and he loved spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be missed greatly.
Funeral services will be held 10 am, January 2, 2024 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Kenton, with Ken Morehouse officiating. Visitation will be held January 2, 2024 from 9-10 am at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at McKendree Cemetery in Goshen. Online condolences may be expressed at stoutcrates.com.
