Ruth M. Sejnoha, 97, of Humboldt, Nebraska, formerly of Mitchell, South Dakota passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 22, 2025, at First Lutheran Church 411 N. Duff St. in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a 6:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Will Funeral Chapel 210 E. Green Dr. in Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to First Lutheran Church or an organization of your choice to honor Ruth.

Born July 1, 1928, Ruth was the third child of eight born to Helen Annetta (Worre) and Mons Olai Aase. She was born in Bradish, NE in Boone County.

Ruth graduated from High School from Lake Andes, SD and got her teaching certificate to teach in county schools including Signal 3, Platte, SD, Geddes, SD, White Swan #4, and Jackson 8. She also worked at the County Court House in Lake Andes, clerked at retail businesses, worked at Norwest bank, waitressed, served school lunches, and provided child care. She has left behind her a rich tapestry of memories woven through decades of love and dedication.

Ruth's life was woven around an unwavering love for her family. On March 1, 1953, she married James J. Sejnoha during a South Dakota blizzard. To that marriage, five children were born.

Ruth is survived by children, Joyce (Kevin) Burnison, Humboldt, NE; Michael (Susan) Sejnoha, Mitchell, SD; Lynne (Spencer) Lien, Independence MN and Maxine (Kenneth) Ritchey, Norwalk, OH; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Ruth is reunited in heaven with her husband, James J Sejnoha; sons, Maurice Sejnoha and a baby boy; a granddaughter, Hannah Sejnoha Burnison; brothers, Harlan, Elwyn and James; sister, Helen Andersen; and all of her husband's brothers and sisters.
