John Allen Roman 62, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2025. Allen was born on May 25, 1963 to John and Kathleen Roman in Watertown, South Dakota. He was their only son and the middle child with four sisters.
Growing up, he learned the value of hard work alongside his father fixing, building, and working at his auto-mechanic shop; developing a remarkable skill for fixing practically anything. This talent followed him throughout his life, from his time in the U.S. Air Force working in aircraft maintenance, to his careers as a salesman, accountant, and real estate investor. With his creative mind and gifted hands, Allen restored houses, cars, and tractors with equal ease, and was always ready to tackle any repair, from lawnmowers to washing machines. His backyard was the junkyard of Sanford and Son. He was a problem-solver, a fixer, and someone who found great satisfaction in helping others.
Beyond his remarkable skills, Allen cherished time with his family, especially the cruises he enjoyed with his wife, Elaine. His hobbies were as diverse as his talents: coin collecting, jewelry making, painting, and a collection of antique Monopoly games. To his grandchildren, he was "Grandpa-saurus," always ready with a silly story or an adventure on the playground. He enjoyed making others laugh and had no shortage of "Dad Jokes". He was genuine, generous, and fiercely patriotic. His love of family, country, and God enriched so many.
He leaves behind his wife Elaine Roman of 25 years; his children, Jessica Lafosse (Peter), Lori Hoang (Bao), Amanda Law (Bill), & Jonathan Roman (Amber); Grandchildren, Will, Caroline, Stella, Lily, Warren David, Ada, Noah, Luke, Grayson, Amelia, Lilah, Eloise; Parent, Kathy Roman; Sisters, Cindy Marsh, Gayle Forrester, Leslie Rookey, and Holly Jones and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, John Roman and his granddaughter Emily Law.
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus... Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." Revelation 14:12-13
