John Sheets Obituary
John Alton "Snookem" Sheets, born August 6, 1938, passed away on June 27, 2025, at the age of 86. He rode horses as a young man and won many trophies. In his adult life, John traveled the world as an electrical superintendent. His favorite place was Taiwan. He was a member of IBEW, Local 995.
John is survived by his children, Delina Schexnayder (Bob), Gwen Blank (Tim), Melissa Frederic (Keith), Mark Sheets (Darlene) and AJ Sheets; a sister, Joycelyn Lambert; grandchildren, Bart & Eric Himel, Julia Dicharrey, Kate Estrada and Kris Brown, Jason and Allyson Sheets, Raylyn and Jayla Sheets; 7 great grandchildren and 2 on the way, and his dog Sassy.
He is preceded in death by his son, Raymond Sheets; parents, Adam “Taylor” and Orelia Guidry Sheets; sister, Etta Pearl Guedry.
A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Monday July 7, 2025. Visitation will be held from 9am until service time at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
