John Calvin Williams, Jr. "a beloved soul who touched many lives" transitioned peacefully at the age of 77 on Wednesday, June 18.
John Calvin Williams, Jr. was born in Philadelphia, Pa. at the Women's Medical Hospital on January 23rd, 1948, the first born of John Calvin Williams, Sr., a World War 11 veteran and Cora Seaborn from Greenville, South Carolina. John was adventurous and had a wide range of interests. He always had the desire to explore different avenues to success on his journey. After graduating from high school, he decided to work with his uncle who owned a business in South Carolina. John later joined the Air Force, and it was there he trained to become an Aeronautical Engineer in which he worked before deciding to attend Lincoln University in Pennsylvania for two years. As he continued his journey, he became certified as a Homeopathic Doctor along with pursuing the Study of Ministry. John pastored many home fellowships wherever he lived and served in both fields as a doctor and minister for the remainder of his life. John enjoyed helping his patients adjust their lifestyles by promoting healthy eating and daily exercise. He loved to preach and always prayed and helped others to understand the precepts of God's Word. He loved eating out and trying new restaurants and with his take charge personality, he would tell the manager what he wanted to add to the dish to suit his taste. He loved spending time with family on holidays and had no problem reminding everyone that he only wanted money in his Christmas and Birthday cards. He always said, "I got plenty of socks!" Although John was known sometimes for roaring like a lion to keep order, he certainly was better known for his kindness and compassion for others.
John is survived by his four beautiful children, Micah, Sarah, Esther and John Calvin III, his sister Mary and her son Paul Anthony, brother Charles and his wife Kerri, his daughter in law Nicole and grandchild Aliyah along with 10 additional grandchildren, ( you can place their names here if you like) he is also survived by his nephews Evan, Seth and Bryce Williams and other great nieces and nephews.
I am a limb that has fallen from our family tree
I keep hearing a voice that says "Grieve Not for Me"
Remember the best times, the laugher, the fellowship
The good life I lived while I was strong
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest
Remembering all how I truly was blessed
Make family traditions, no matter how small
Go on with life, don't worry about falls
I will miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin
Until the day comes when we are together again.
