Johnathan R. Boone, a vibrant and loving individual, was born on June 18, 1994, in Sevierville, Tennessee. He passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family and friends.
Johnathan was known for his infectious smile that could light up any room and a heart that was truly too large for this world. He possessed a diverse array of interests, passionately enjoying skateboarding, fishing, dancing, and all forms of sports. Johnathan’s ability to connect with people was remarkable; he never met a stranger, extending his kindness and helping hand to those in need, regardless of their age.
He is survived by his mother, Lisa Whidden; his father, Johnny Boone and his wife, Lisa; and his children, Kyleigh Anderson, Braylon Boone, Kingston Boone, and Sutton Boone. Johnathan also leaves behind his brother, Joseph “Joe” Boone and his wife, Harley; grandmothers, Lise Whidden and Debbie Mathis; grandfather, Johnny Boone; and nephews, Izzy Boone, Josiah Boone, and Waylon Boone. His family extends to his aunts, Carol Millwood and husband Chad and Jennifer Buchanan, and special cousins, Ashley, Sheldon and his wife, Michelle, Dalton and his wife, Casey, Amber, and Kasey.
Johnathan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Nathan Whidden; step-grandfather, Billy Mathis; grandmother, Sheila Lewis; uncle, David Franklin; and great uncle, Raymond Cook. The legacy that Johnathan leaves behind is one of love, warmth, and generosity that will be cherished and remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Johnathan will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Sunset Forest Baptist Church, 903 Hickory Grove Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and the service will follow at 6:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Pastor Jeffrey Hicks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunset Forest Baptist Church, 903 Hickory Grove Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056.
