David Henry Klein of Cook Station, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at his home at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 4 days. He was born June 29, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to Henry Klein and Hazel Mizell Klein.
David was employed for several years at Wishon Farms and also, he had his own business of selling root gatherings.
He enjoyed many activities outdoors, especially deer and turkey hunting, fishing and trapping coons, along with working outside.
David graduated from Steelville High School in 1968. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1970.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Hazel Klein; granddaughter, Chelsea Smith; great-grandson, Emmett Jones; one brother, Howard Klein; sister, Henrietta Ness; and brothers-in-law, Wes Sagers and Jim Hanks.
He is survived by his daughters, Suzette Klein of Springfield, MO and Debbie (Guy) Smith of
Steelville, MO; two sisters, Violet Hanks of
Steelville, MO and Paula Sagers of LaClaire, IA; brother-in-law, Leroy Ness of Union, MO; two grandchildren, Dylon Klein and Jaiden Klein of Springfield, MO; one great-granddaughter, Analeia Klein; nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
The Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life was held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of "Tears in Heaven", "Down to the River to Pray" and "Go Rest High" was played.
The service was streamed on Britton-Bennett Facebook Page.
Committal prayer and inurnment with American Legion Post 218 Washington, MO and Patriot Guard Riders South Central Missouri were in the Barnicle Chapel Cemetery,
Steelville, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given monetarily to the family for funeral expenses.
