Jon Dee "JD" Inda, 73, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, will be remembered as a colorful storyteller who made friends everywhere he went. One of his favorite tales was how he once convinced someone to invite him to their family reunion simply because they shared the same last name. Years later, they did find the connection-and JD gained a whole new set of cousins around the world.

Born on September 26, 1952, in Guthrie, JD was the youngest son of Floyd and Irene Inda. He grew up helping with the family business, Inda's Farm Dairy, and attended Guthrie schools, always cherishing time spent with his 1970 Guthrie High School classmates. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Oklahoma State University in 1976.

JD began his career as a Vo-Ag teacher in Beggs, Guthrie, and Burlington, Oklahoma, before running a flower shop in Checotah, Oklahoma. In 1989, he founded his beloved Inda Gelbvieh, and in 1991, he began a more than 30-year career with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-both of which led to countless friendships across the state.

He met his wife Robbie at a rodeo – a fitting start to a life rooted in cattle and ranch life. They made their home in Guthrie, where they raised their blended family. Together, they loved hosting friends and family for 89'ers Day celebrations, holidays, and special gatherings.

JD is survived by his brother Eddy (Bud) Inda; his children, Matt Inda and wife Irene, Brandi Inda, Traci Steelman and husband Ryan, and Michael Bryant and wife Tonya; his grandchildren, Liz, Aiden, Lilli, Emma, Abby, Harry, Bitsy, Peter, and Travis; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Robbie and his parents.

Never one to sit still, JD enjoyed spending time outdoors with his cattle and working in sale barns across Oklahoma. He will be remembered fondly for being a bit ornery, particularly enjoying watching you struggle with hay bales for his own entertainment. His frugalness is legendary, often spending days on a problem twenty dollars would fix. He found it particularly satisfying to find a use for that valve he saved from ten years prior. He was also known to enjoy a coldbeer (pronounced as one word) now and again.

JD passed from this life on October 11, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A good rain and a baby calf will always be welcome at Inda Gelbvieh.

Funeral services for JD will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church located at 1900 South Division Street in Guthrie. A private interment will be held at Marlow Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, 220 North 1st Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma 73044.

Visitation will be held Friday, 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
