Jonathan Everett Tripp, 62, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2025, doing what he loved and surrounded by friends. He was a friend to all, and his passing was far too soon.
John was born on October 9, 1962, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, the youngest child of Dewey C. Tripp and Helen M. (Klob) Tripp. Growing up, he embraced the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and learning the value of hard work. His love of adventure took him to places like Florida and Colorado, but he eventually settled in Dalhart, Texas, where he made a life for himself.
John was a true "jack of all trades"-a skilled carpenter, a handyman, and someone who could fix just about anything. When he wasn't working, he could be found pursuing his passions for golf, fishing, and traveling to the mountains. His generosity knew no bounds; he would have given the shirt off his back or the shoes off his feet to anyone in need.
John is survived by his brothers Danny Tripp (and wife Rose), Richard Tripp, Douglas Tripp, Kenneth Tripp, Nathan Tripp (and wife Anita), his sisters Betty Charboneau (and husband Jimmy), and Karen Bullock, along with a large and loving extended family of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Helen Tripp, and his sister-in-law Donna Tripp (wife of Doug).
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has been arranged by Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas.
A celebration of life will be held in John's memory at Twisted Elms Golf Club on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 12:00 Noon. The family warmly invites you to join them in sharing one of John's favorite meals, swapping stories, and enjoying a round of golf, just as John would have wanted.
