Joni Rhea Daniel, 68, of Tulia, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brian West officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A visitation will be held after the service at Calvary Baptist Church.
Born on September 8, 1956 in Tulia, Joni was the daughter of the late Billie Ray and Charlie Mae Daniel. She remained a proud member of the Tulia community throughout her life, where she was known for her warmth, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Joni faithfully served as a dispatcher at Swisher Electric Cooperative for over 25 years, a role she held with dedication and pride until her retirement in 2019. Her coworkers became lifelong friends.
Above all, Joni treasured her family. She is survived by her daughter, Leanna Lemons of Tulia, TX; her son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Monica Lemons of Melissa, TX; and her three precious grandchildren, Price Lemons of Tulia, and Aivry and Mattie Lemons of Melissa. She also leaves behind her beloved brothers and their wives, Kirk and Bonnie Daniel of Tulia, and Scott and Kris Daniel of Canyon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Katie Miller, James Gaither, Coey Daniel, Alexis Garcia, and Jordan Marks.
Joni found joy in life’s simple pleasures — a heartfelt conversation with a friend, a family gathering, or a chance to travel and explore somewhere new. Her generosity, support, and humor touched everyone who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
