Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jose Anselmo Dominguez, age 84, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2025, at his residence in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Jose was born to Rafael Dominguez and Aurelia Altamirano on February 3, 1941, in Ciudad Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico. He had been a resident of Las Vegas, New Mexico for the past 45 years. During his time in the community, Jose built strong connections with friends and family and was known and appreciated by many. He worked at Barela's Timber for 10 years and at Allsup's for 11 years, where he enjoyed meeting people and made lasting friendships before retiring. He loved Spanish music, being outdoors, landscaping, and spending his mornings drinking coffee while scratching his lottery tickets. He was a strong and determined man, when he set his mind to something, he did it. He was loved deeply and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Jose is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Urioste-Dominguez, and by her children Paul Urioste and Pete Urioste, whom he helped raise since they were young. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Samantha Urioste (partner Kody Trout), Anthony Urioste Jr. (wife Morgan Urioste), Jesus Urioste, Aubrey Urioste, Leandra Pino (fiancé John Ortiz), Brendan Urioste, Manuel Garcia, Amanda Garcia, Pete Urioste Jr. (wife Renee Urioste), Estevan Urioste, and Desirae Casas (husband Jose Casas). He is also survived by one great-great-grandchild, Esme Ortiz (Jordyn). He had a special place in the hearts of caretakers of the family Vicki Berg and Melissa Jaramillo. Jose was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Urioste Sr., his parents (Rafael and Aurelia), and family members Joseph and David Vigil. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with Father Rob Yaksich officiating. Services will be live streamed through www.oloslasvegas.org.
