Jose Juarez Obituary

Jose P. Juarez, 71, of Gonzales, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025. He was born in Mexico on April 29, 1953 the son of Jose Juarez and Maria Angela Gallegos. Jose worked for J Bar B Foods for many years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He enjoyed gardening, taking walks and listening to music. He liked being outdoors and loved the rain. Jose and Maria enjoyed going dancing on Saturdays, but most of all, he loved playing with his grandkids and treasured time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Maria Gonzalez; step-daughters Silvia Rios of Mexico, Rachael Llamas, Elizabeth Gallegos and Leticia Grifaldo all of Gonzales; son Alejandro Juarez of Gonzales; step-son Jose Rafael Gonzalez of Mexico; sisters Isabel Juarez and Francisca Juarez both of Mexico; brothers Francisco Juarez and Apolonio Juarez both of Mexico. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends all who cared for him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Maria Juarez, brothers Diego, Porfirio and Prajedes Juarez and grandson Mateo de Jesus Gallegos.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Sebastian Gabriel Llamas, Damian Andres Grifaldo, Jose Benito Juarez, Juan Gabriel Llamas, Narciso Javier Gallegos and Gilberto Grifaldo.
