Mr. Serratos was born on August 22, 1956, in Mexico, to the late Ignacio Serratos and Cristina (Castro) Serratos, and died Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Lufkin.
Mr. Serratos found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandson, whom he loved taking out to eat and bringing along wherever he went. He had a playful spirit and was always picking on his daughter and grandchildren in the most loving, lighthearted ways. Music was a special part of his life, he loved singing and listening to his favorite songs. Simple pleasures brought him happiness, like taking short drives to Nacogdoches and Livingston with his wife, scrolling through Facebook, or just being out and enjoying life. He will be remembered for his joyful heart, his deep love for his family, and the many ways he made everyday moments feel special.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Garcia; son-in-law, Juan Garcia; granddaughter, Desity Garcia; granddaughter, Lexi Garcia; and grandson, Luis Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alma Angelica Serratos; and brother, Ignacio Serratos, Jr..
Pallbearers will be Salvador Cisneros, Ricardo Garcia, Javier Martinez, Daniel Santoyo, Edgar Garcia, and Adrian Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Luis Garcia, and Juan Garcia.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, at Shafer Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
