Josefina was born and raised in the Philippines. She earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of the Philippines and taught high school for several years before immigrating to the United States in 1970. For a short time was a Merchandise Buyer for Sears Roebuck & Co., ultimately returning to the education field as a Special Education Teacher at Saint Colleta/The Kennedy School in Chicago.
Visitation Saturday, April 26th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Saint Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 7399 West 159th Street. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Section 50W, Block 13, Lot 11, Grave 8.

Her enduring dedication during her term as president shaped our alumni in lasting ways through her leadership and kindness she shared so freely, for which we are grateful. May she rest in peace and eternal light shines upon her.

Witty and ebullient, never a dull moment when she is around. I adored her for her intelligence and energy. A very active member of the UP Alumni Association of Greater Chicago, she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Rest in peace, Baby, until we meet again.
