In Loving Memory of Joseph "Joe" Horace Albright
December 29, 1946 – June 19, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we celebrate the life of Joseph "Joe" Horace Albright, who passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. Born on December 29, 1946, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, to the late Horace and Marcelle Albright, Joe lived a life defined by love, service, and a genuine spirit that touched everyone he met.
Joe proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War. His time in the service left a lasting impact, and he took great joy in sharing stories from those years-stories filled with wisdom, humor, and heartfelt reflection.
A man of deep faith, Joe was a devoted member of Peachtree Corners Baptist Church for many years. His commitment to serving others was evident in the countless hours he volunteered-teaching Sunday School, mentoring youth, and serving faithfully as a deacon. Joe was always ready with a listening ear, steady guidance, and a compassionate heart.
Professionally, Joe worked in commercial sales within the HVAC and plumbing industries for many years. Later in life, he served as a school bus driver for Gwinnett County Schools and Wesleyan School in Peachtree Corners-a role he cherished. He especially enjoyed the children and their families, and delighted in the many stories those experiences brought him.
A loyal and enthusiastic Atlanta Falcons fan, Joe held season tickets for 35 years and rarely missed a game. Whether celebrating victories or enduring losses, his loyalty never wavered. Watching the Falcons-and cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs-was one of his greatest joys, often shared with family and friends. Go Dawgs!
Joe never met a stranger. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and welcome. His warmth and authenticity left a lasting mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Joe will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, steadfast faith, warm smile, and the stories he loved to tell. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of kindness, laughter, and love lives on in all who were blessed to know him.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Susan Herod Albright, who stood faithfully by his side through every season of life. He was a proud and loving father to Steffanie Porter, Lindsey Albright, and Kari Rambo (husband Adam), and a joyful grandfather to Liam Porter, Evan Porter, Connor Rambo, and Nolan Rambo. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Reaves and many nieces and nephews. Joe's family was the center of his world, and the love he gave them will continue to echo through generations.
Visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow, offering friends and family an opportunity to celebrate Joe's life and reflect on cherished memories. Joe will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
