Joseph Leonard Beel was born on April 13, 1970, to Thomas and Judy (Mansour) Beel in Valentine, Nebraska.
He attended school in Mission, SD and White River, SD. Joseph enlisted in the United States Navy on Sept. 28, 1989, and was honorably discharged from the Navy on Sept. 23, 1992. He later attended Mid Plains Community College. After college he took a job as a highway maintenance worker with the state of South Dakota.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his sons, Kase and Mason.
Joseph passed away on June 21, 2025, at his home in White River, South Dakota.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Judy, and brother Anthony Valandra.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Kase Owen, Mason Lee Beel, and Ex-wife Nicole Beel; brother, Brent Valandra; sister, Teresa and husband Emanuel Curry and their sons, Emanuel and Joshua; stepparents, Terry and Michelle Leach and sister, Chelsey Leach.
A graveside service will be held, Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, Nebraska. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of funeral arrangements for Joseph Beel.
