On July 14, 2025, the Lord called Joseph E. Bielmeier, 83, of Wautoma, home peacefully with his family by his side. His heart overflowing with treasured memories of his beloved wife, his children and grandchildren, and countless dear friends and relatives. A life that was filled with faith, love, and laughter, of trophy hunts, cribbage wins, seasons spent tending and harvesting the garden, and countless casts across the lake he so deeply cherished.
He is survived by his beloved wife Josephine (nee Hahn), and father of Christine (Thomas) Feldhusen, West Bend; Catherine (Barry) Ransom, Berlin; Paula (Tyler) Caswell, Wild Rose; Tammy (Jason) Harelstad, New Auburn; Troy (Jessica) Bielmeier, Wautoma. Cherished grandfather of Andrew, Lauren, and Alexandra Feldhusen; Jenna (Karl) Branske; Ashley (Thomas) Friday, Anna Caswell; Whitley, Alexia, and AJ Harelstad; Kelsey Michalski, Nolan, and Josephine Bielmeier. Beloved brother of Irene (Darwin) Wegenke, Fred (Judy) Bielmeier, Carl “Jim” (Polly) Bielmeier, Daniel (Jill) Bielmeier, Patsy (Jim) Lichtenberg, David (Janice) Bielmeier . Sister-in-law Mary (Harold) Olson. He is survived also by countless relatives and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia Angst, brother-in-law John Angst, brother Raymond, sister-in-law Lois, brother-in-law Harold Olson, and nephews Steven Bielmeier and Jason Angst.
Joseph was born on July 30, 1941, to Carl and Agnes (nee Kurczek) Bielmeier in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Josephine, on October 13, 1962. They remained in Wautoma, building their home and raising their children, attending their sporting events and concerts.. He was an avid gardener, hunter, trapper, and fisherman. Fishing and hunting in Colorado, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Wyoming, Idaho, Alaska, and Canada. Retiring from the Berlin Foundry after 40 plus years, he enjoyed traveling the country with his wife and dear friends Nancy and Gene West.
His greatest joy in life was his family. There always was a story to be told, a lesson to be learned, a cribbage or sheepshead game to be played, another fishing pole to cast, and was always willing to lend a hand when asked.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wautoma, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be private to family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Joseph’s memory.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time.
